Hello and welcome - my name is Graham Glynn and I have worked intuitively with the tarot for over 30 years. During this time the tarot cards have revealed consistently accurate observations about a very wide range of subjects areas. In addition to being a tarot reader I am also a transpersonal psychotherapist and, although I never mix the two disciplines, my counselling skills are often helpful when covering sensitive and confidential issues during a tarot reading.
A great deal of erroneous superstition is associated with the tarot. The cards are simply pieces of cardboard displaying pictures with symbolic meanings - similar to our dream symbols - and it is these that are interpreted by the tarot reader; the symbols on the cards reveal past and present situations and offer insights into probable outcomes if certain paths are chosen. The tarot is like a map that guides us to the best path to follow - but it is always up to us to make our own final decisions and to exercise our free choice.
I have long been fascinated by the investigations of psychiatrist Carl Jung in connection with the archetypal symbols associated with the Tarot and in 1984 I was awarded a three month scholarship to study the archetypal symbolism and design in Chinese Art and Chan Spiritual Gardens. I found that many of the symbols found in the Western Tarot were in fact universal and part of our collective consciousness - some aspects having been used in spiritual development and divination for nearly five thousand years! I give lessons on how to read the tarot and over many years I have been impressed by the way in which many people develop their powers of intuition and insight and become increasingly self-empowered through incorporating the spiritual meanings of the tarot within their own lives.
